Real Robots That Exist In The World Today

Unveiling the Humanoids: Exploring the Next Generation of Robotics

Humanoid robots are advanced machines premeditated to resemble and interact with humans, encyclopedism and human behaviors through sophisticated technologies such as AI and machine learning. Equipped with sensors, they pucker information from their milieu to perceive and empathize the world. 


Through machine learning algorithms, they recognize patterns, sociable cues, and imitate human actions. Utilizing mechanical components, they retroflex human movements and continuously improve their motor skills. With implications in healthcare, education, and more, humanoid robots have huge potential in tasks requiring dexterity, social interaction, and presence, revolutionizing varied industries.


There are several real robots that exist in the world. Here are about examples:


Sophia: Developed by Hanson Robotics

Sophia, the world's first robot citizen and Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme, has captivated global audiences with her remarkable character. From enthralling appearances on the Tonight Show and Good Morning United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Irelan to delivering speeches at numerous conferences worldwide, Sophia has become a family name, igniting imaginations and sparking conversations about the potential of robotics and artificial intelligence.


Sophia is a humanoid golem known for its human-like visual aspect and artificial word capabilities.It has gained media attention for its ability to hold conversations and undefined various facial expressions. Hanson Robotics page introduces Sophia in an article that follows a description on her behalf saying,I”In Greek, the word Sophia means wisdom. And that is what I’m here for. I was created to help people in real uses like medicine and education, and to serve AI research.”



Ameca- Created by Manufactured Arts 

Ameca is one of the most advanced humanoid robots that remind us of the Movie ‘’Ex Machina’’ and it looks like the Character Ava. The facial expressions and response to questions is tremendously admirable and quite creepy as well. It’s a recent sensation on social media and people can already imagine the future ahead of us with this innovation. 


Ameca, the humanoid robot developed by Manufacturer Engineered Arts, was not made usable for consumer purchase. Instead, it was designed as a platform for future robotic technology, with the intention of enabling others to develop it further. In December 2021, Engineered Arts offered Ameca for sale or rental at an undisclosed price.


Spot: Created by Boston Dynamics

Boston Dynamics Dog Robot Spot is one of my most favorite, it looks adorable when the robot walks on the street like a real cute puppy dog. Boston Dynamics has been involved in the development and training of multiple Robots, however, the dog robot is fascinating and has caught an eye since its launch in public. It has got all the attention. 


Spot is a quadruped robot designed for various applications. It can navigate rough terrains, rise stairs, and perform tasks such as inspection, data collection, and even assisting in healthcare settings. In a recent development, the New York Police Department announced a plan to use a spot for patrolling in the street and help the police department in different activities.


 

Pepper: Developed by SoftBank Robotics

Pepper is one of the robots that has the look of an innocent child. Personally, I want the future robots to be like Pepper, who seems humble and kind by the appearance. Pepper was introduced in Tokyo in 2014, by Masayoshi Son. It is designed to help people, assist them through interaction and is loaded with knowledge. 


Pepper is a social humanoid robot premeditated to interact with people. It can recognize human emotions, wage in conversations, and provide information or assistance in various environments, such as retail stores or public spaces.

Atlas: too created by Boston Dynamics

By appearance, Atlas is strong and capable of performing tough jobs. It is an android robot capable of performing undefined movements and tasks. It has the power to walk, run, and balance on uneven surfaces, qualifying it suitable for applications such as look for and deliver or industrial tasks.


Also, Atlas has 3D printed parts that makes it unique and different from other robots. It weighs 89 kg. It can detect its surroundings and make predictions. Last year, Dynamic Robots Atlas and Spot made headlines and became a social media sensation after being seen dancing on a famous song. It went viral for the movies. 


Roomba: Factory-Made by iRobot

Roomba is a robot that is commercially available and anyone can buy them. They are  vacuum cleaners designed for home use. It uses sensors and algorithms to voyage through and through rooms, avoid obstacles, and automatically clean floors.


Unlike other robots, the Roomba robot is not human in appearance, however, different functions make it human such as observing things around with a sensor to avoid obstacles, cleaning the floor and walking around by itself. 


Tally: Developed by Simbe Robotics

Tally, developed by Simbe Robotics, is a pioneering autonomous robot revolutionizing stock-take management in retail environments. Designed to enhance undefined and accuracy, Tally roams stash aisles, scanning shelves to ride herd on inventory levels in real-time. Nao: Created by Aldebaran

Nao is a modest mechanical man robot that has been used for research, education, and amusement purposes. It can recognize faces, speak multiple languages, and perform various synergistic tasks.


Nao is similar to pepper in appearance. It feels like they are connected like brothers and sisters born in different places. Whatever, I just love both of them. 


ASIMO- Created by Honda 

For over a decade, Honda has dedicated its efforts to develop ASIMO, a humanoid robot with the ultimate goal of assisting us in our daily household tasks. ASIMO, short for Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility, possesses the power to communicate in American and Japanese sign away language, reach speeds of up to 5.6 miles per hour, and anticipate and react to its environment.


Although ASIMO is not presently disposable for purchase, Honda envisions its availableness in stores by 2030, aiming to make this advanced robotic assistant accessible to the world


These are simply a few examples of the many robots that exist today. The field of robotics is continually advancing, and new robots with unusual capabilities and applications are being improved regularly.
