Anthropic Launches Claude 2, an Improved and Conversational AI Chatbot

Anthropic, an AI company, has made its AI chatbot, Claude, available to a wider audience. The new version, Claude 2, can now be tested by users in the US and UK directly from the company's website.

Joining the ranks of other popular AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Bing, and Bard, Claude offers users a friendly and helpful conversational experience. Anthropic describes Claude as an enthusiastic colleague or personal assistant who can understand natural language and assist with various tasks.

While Claude shares similarities with Google's Bard and Microsoft's Bing chatbots, Anthropic emphasizes its distinct approach. Claude has a more conversational tone, and it even incorporates humor. The chatbot is guided by a set of principles, referred to as a "constitution," allowing it to autonomously refine its responses without relying on human moderators.

Initially launched in March, Claude was available exclusively to businesses upon request or as a Slack app. Claude 2 expands on the chatbot's existing capabilities and introduces several improvements. It can now generate longer responses and exhibits enhanced skills in areas such as math, coding, and reasoning compared to the previous model.

Unlike Bard and Bing, Claude 2 does not have internet connectivity and is trained on data up to December 2022. While it lacks real-time information on current events and more recent data than the free version of ChatGPT, users can still provide Claude 2 with recently published websites or webpages for queries.

Anthropic's release of Claude 2 introduces an improved and conversational AI chatbot, expanding accessibility and offering users a helpful and interactive experience.
